Gaming community can be called the most spoiled in the computer world. What kind of manipulators manufacturers have not released in recent years, but players are always missing something. But when developers listen to the wishes of users, devices appear very close to the ideal. The launch of the Asus gaming ROG Gladius II is an excellent example of this interaction. That’s why we come with ASUS ROG Gladius II Wireless Review.
In the mouse, the company tried to combine the convenience of a wireless mouse with the speed and functionality of a hardcore tailed device. As a result, this venture turned out, we will tell in this review. But, before turning to the impressions of working with manipulators, we briefly emphasize the attention of new technologies that were used here to get you outstanding results in games.

New Technologies – New Opportunities:
ROG Gladius II Wireless is first and foremost a wireless manipulator, which gives the user freedom from wires and extreme ease of use.
Three types of connection:
In this model, the developers did not limit the gamer in choosing and equipped the device with three types of connections: wireless (2.4 GHz radio channel, range up to 90 m), via Bluetooth LE (low power consumption) and wire – USB cable. Using a Bluetooth connection is a definite plus because it allows you to connect the mouse to any modern laptop and other mobile devices without using a wireless adapter. To select the type of connection on the lower side of the mouse has a special button. Someone will say that this is all that you can dream of. But it is not.
High precision optical sensor:
This gaming mouse is equipped with a 4th generation optical sensor PixArt PMW3390. It is precisely its use that makes it possible to achieve maximum accuracy and speed of tracking in ROG Gladius II Wireless. The resolution of the optical sensor is 16000 dpi, and the delay is only 1 ms. For comparison, in the wired version of this manipulator, the resolution was 12000 dpi.
Switchers Hi – End class:
The device received Omron D2FC-FK switches, which provide impressive durability, reaching 50 million keystrokes, and reliable operation. At the same time, in the design of the mouse, the developers have provided the ability to replace the switches by installing them in unique slots quickly. This means that in case of failure of the switch, it can be quickly replaced. Especially for such cases, a set of spare switches are provided.
Low power consumption:
Although the mouse has received a powerful microprocessor for processing signals from an optical sensor PMW3390 with a resolution of 16000 dpi, its power consumption is minimized. A significant role in this was played by the joint development of Asus and PixArt. As shown by our tests, one battery charge lasts for 4 working days (8 hours each) of continuous use of the manipulator with maximum illumination and maximum resolution. Impressive results.
Another important factor in such careful energy consumption was the rejection of the RGB backlight illumination of the mouse, which was present in the wired version of Gladius II. Illumination of the logo and scroll remained the same.
And what’s in the box?
In addition to the mouse itself, it comes with a USB cable, a 2.4 GHz wireless adapter, two spare switchers, and a plastic embossed logo sticker. To make the device convenient to carry, for example, at competitions, ROG provided for this purpose a special fabric bag. We will discuss more in our ASUS ROG Gladius II Wireless Review.
Powerful and stylish
The new mouse Asus ROG Gladius II Wireless is really worthy of this expression. This gaming features in the hull shape, and a strict calculation in weight and size. The image is complemented, of course, by the fantastically beautiful lighting, which we will describe in detail below. And yet, in this mouse, the features of its predecessor, the wired version, are easily guessed.ROG Gladius II Wireless has an ergonomic shape – it is pleasant to hold in your hand; it feels like an extension of your brush, ensuring maximum comfort in operation.
The left and right mouse buttons are moderately wide and long enough to fit for both short and long fingers – and this is worth a lot! Moreover, pressing is performed with the same force, both at the very base and at the end of the key. Whatever zone of the button is your finger in the heat of battle, you can be sure that the click will work.
Also thoughtfully executed and side buttons. But for better holding the mouse, they are rubberized and have a textured pattern in the style of Maya. They also decorated cover scroll wheel. On the left side of the mouse, there is another auxiliary keyboard block, on which the buttons already have a glossy finish. For a better feel, their tips are a bit pointy. That is an interesting decision. You will not find fault with their location – everything is precisely adjusted under the thumb. Although it should be noted that for people with a small hand to reach them will be difficult.
Do not ignore the bottom side of the device. Here, the most essential element is the supports made of a special material, which ensure a perfectly smooth glide on the surface of a table or a rug. The ease of movement is important and the weight of the mouse, which increased to 130 grams (mainly because of the built-in battery at 800 mA / h), which almost did not affect the ease of movement.
It is worth noting that the location of the battery inside the case is chosen very well and provides the mouse with a good balance. Due to this, the mouse in the raised state quickly moves parallel to the table.
Combat use
For ROG Gladius II Wireless, we performed a full-fledged baptism of fire in a wide variety of games. From the very beginning, the manipulator perfectly formed the hand, ensuring comfortable work without a period of habituation, be it with documents or gaming battles. In wireless mode, a single battery charge lasted about 5 business days of use with the backlight turned on at 100% and with the highest sensitivity of the sensor.
But the mouse can also be used after the charge is over: simply connect it to the computer via the supplied USB – micro-USB cable. The corresponding connector is on the front face of the mouse. After connecting, the signal from the mouse to the PC will not only be transmitted, but the battery will also start charging. The charging time of the built-in battery in active mode is approximately 3 hours. If the manipulator is not touched, The wire of the mouse is made of solid fabric, which excludes the possibility to rub, and its length of 2 m is enough to stretch and connect to any point in the area of the computer desk.
Also, the utility allows you to create macros and calibrate the mouse for a specific pad, including synchronization with a smart mat (with backlight and wireless charging). In ROG Armory, you can adjust the angle of movement of the cursor from -20 to +20 degrees. It allows you to adjust the movement of the mouse on the screen under a specific constant position of the brush on the rug.
For special aesthetes, the program allows you to choose your own color for different levels of mouse battery charge: green – from 100 to 75%, blue – from 75 to 25%, red – from 25 to 0%. Color schemes are also available: static and slowly flashing with a range of up to 16 million colors.
Moreover, if you are also the owner of the keyboard with the backlight from the brand ROG, then using the technology of Aura Sync, you can synchronize the backlight of the mouse and keyboard.
It may be interesting.
